Prue Anderson  C.A.

As a trusted advisor and mentor Prue specialises in the establishment and growth of new businesses and enjoys the challenges of mature businesses. She is approachable, confidential and caring, and she’s keen on providing training and support.

Prue enjoys working with community and not-for-profit organisations. Her years as the Chairman of the Whanganui Community Foundation, an organisation that helps fund and develop many charitable, educational, cultural, philanthropic and recreational activities in the wider Whanganui area, provided Prue with an appreciation of difference, and balancing competing priorities and personalities. Governance, management and investment growth were key areas of focus.

Prue returned to Whanganui after working in Wellington for KPMG, she joined Carey Smith in 2003. Prue was a Director of Carey Smith & Co Ltd. When the directors of Carey Smith & Co Ltd decided to set up in practice individually she took the opportunity to become a xero expert and set up a xero practice.  She is a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a public practice certificate.

Prue loves the ocean and lives with her partner, Warwick, on the banks overlooking Castlecliff Beach. Her greatest pleasures in life are her family, and the beautiful New Zealand landscape.  She loves to visit her three children and her grandchildren in Melbourne. She loves to get out into the wilderness on her mountain bike with Warwick, into the mountains in her tramping boots, she loves cooking, rugby games at the ‘cake-tin’, live music, and summer holidays.  She’s also a born-again vegetable gardener and is passionate about Whanganui, and protecting our precious environment.
